  • Take telephone calls from members, claimants, solicitors and other third parties.
  • Draft and send documents such as court documents, letters to members, claimants’ solicitors, panel representatives and external third parties.
  • Triage incoming correspondence to proactively identify items that need immediate attention or a prioritised response (e.g. proceedings, other case types) and escalates these to the appropriate team member for action.
  • Review records to ensure full disclosure and prepare chronologies, case summaries and case reviews in accordance with applicable process, guidance, terms and conditions.
  • Other case‑management admin and ad‑hoc tasks as necessary.
Ideal Candidate
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy and convey information both clearly and effectively, in writing and when speaking with others.
  • Can work within a team, contributing effectively to the group’s success.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail, producing work to a high standard at a fast pace.
  • Understanding of protecting sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage difficult conversations and escalations appropriately.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and maintain an organised system for case files and deadlines.
  • Proactive and able to work individually with minimal supervision.
  • Competent IT skills, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows software.
  • Can work well under pressure.
About The Company

The Medical Protection Society Ltd (MPS) is the world’s leading protection organisation for Doctors, Dentists and healthcare professionals. We protect and support the professional interests of almost 300,000 members around the world.

We are a not‑for‑profit organisation, meaning members’ subscriptions are either invested into bettering the organisation, colleagues and products, or kept safe should members require support for complaints or claims arising from professional practice.

Our philosophy is to support safe practice in medicine and dentistry by helping to avert problems in the first place. We also actively campaign for regulatory and legal reforms that benefit members and the wider healthcare professions.

To do this, we need colleagues who are trusted and supported to deliver their best work, whether that be through leadership development, fully funded training courses or peer‑to‑peer support. We want colleagues to feel empowered to deliver positive change, display ambition to push themselves and be determined when faced with a challenge, whilst ensuring members’ best interests are at the core.
