Electrical Fitter

Our client, a key player in the defence and security sector, is seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter to join their team at Portsmouth Naval Base. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering temporary electrical services to support naval operations. Working in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment, you'll ensure vessels and engineering teams receive reliable and safe power connections, primarily as a shore connections electrician.

• Delivering temporary electrical services across Portsmouth Naval Base in accordance with safety standards
• Operating as a shore connections electrician, ensuring vessels receive safe power infrastructure
• Communicating effectively with ship staff, colleagues, and engineering teams to coordinate work
• Supporting all areas of Alongside Services when needed, maintaining flexibility in a dynamic environment
• Participating in on‑call rotas and providing overtime support to meet operational demands
• Assisting with the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems, including 3‑phase systems

• Supported by an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installations
• NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Testing and Electrical Installations
• BSth Edition qualification
• Pat testing qualification
• Full UK driving licence with the ability to obtain UK Security Clearance
