Role: HGV Technician
Location:
LS25
Salary: £20 per hour – 45 Hour week
Shift: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm and 1 in 2 Saturdays 8am-12pm

HGV Mechanic Opportunity – Workshop-Based Role
An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a growing, well-established commercial vehicle maintenance operation in Sherburn, North Yorkshire. This is a long-term, stable position for a skilled HGV Mechanic looking to work in a professional, supportive workshop environment.
This role is ideal for a motivated HGV Mechanic who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, problem-solving, and working as part of a close-knit team.
The Role – HGV Mechanic
As an HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, servicing, diagnostics and repair of HGVs and commercial vehicles. The HGV Mechanic role involves working with modern diagnostic equipment, ensuring all vehicles meet safety, compliance and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities – HGV Mechanic
• Inspection, servicing and repair of HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Diagnostics and fault-finding as an HGV Mechanic using modern diagnostic tools
• Routine maintenance including brakes, tyres, and oil servicing
• Repairing and replacing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components
• Completing accurate service and compliance documentation
• Working collaboratively with other HGV Mechanics and workshop staff
• Maintaining workshop safety and cleanliness
• Ensuring all work meets legal, safety and quality standards
Requirements – HGV Mechanic
• Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or in a similar heavy vehicle mechanical role
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical knowledge
• Confident using diagnostic equipment as an HGV Mechanic
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Relevant mechanical qualifications (advantageous)
• Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
• Class 1 licence (advantageous, not essential)
