Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to be part of our engineering team in Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and Chesterfield to undertake the maintenance and repair of air conditioning equipment. This includes service, maintenance and repair of split AC systems and VRV/VRF systems. You may also be required to work on specific refrigeration equipment.

Refrigeration is desirable but can be upskilled if successful.

You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of manufacturer plants, for example Daikin, Mitsubishi, Media, Toshiba and LG. Understanding installation designs and bespoke manufacturer troubleshooting procedures, while also being comfortable with seeking manufacturer technical support autonomously, is desirable. You will be expected to complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, keeping logs of inspections, reports and remedial work.

Candidates will desirably have a clean full current driving licence. You will be expected to perform manual tasks, including manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces. Good verbal and written communication are important, including the ability to use a handheld computer device (PDA). You will need to be highly self-motivated, solutions focused, able to work without supervision but also enjoy working as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will have experience within a commercial Maintenance / Facilities Management environment. You must have relevant qualifications e.g., FGAS & ODS regs, time served apprenticeship, C&G Level 3 / NVQ or equivalent. Knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work procedures and safe systems of working is required. Training, development, progression and internal promotions are provided.

Experience of maintenance, testing and fault-finding on a variety of equipment, including HVAC systems and lighting, is desirable (desirable but can be upskilled).

Qualifications (selected)
  • Refrigeration or Air Conditioning Specific Qualification (Not being F-Gas) such as NVQ level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning and Small Refrigeration
  • City & Guilds Refrigeration and Air-conditioning (7189) Level 2 or 3
  • City & Guilds Refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems (6090) Level 3 only
  • F-Gas Category 1 (City & Guilds 2079, formerly 2078 Safe Handling of Refrigerants)
  • C&G 236 Part 1 & 2
  • BS7671 Electrical Regulations (desirable but can be upskilled)
  • C&G 2391 Electrical inspection and Testing (desirable but can be upskilled)
