Forklift Service Engineer Apprentice - Sherburn

The role involves learning the skills to service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and other material handling equipment while studying towards an industry‑recognised qualification. This 3‑year programme combines college and workplace learning.

As an apprentice you will work in one of our service centres or at a customer’s site, working as part of our service team.

As an apprentice you will be involved in:

• Shadowing and working with your mentor and the team to understand material handling equipment.
• Learning about the trucks, how they work and how to fix them.
• Block weeks at college where you will learn new skills and take part in classroom and workshop learning.
• Online learning and development with the learning provider.

• GCSE grades A‑C or 4‑9 in English, Maths and either Science/Engineering or IT (or equivalent).
• Interest in mechanical engineering/engineering.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to take instruction and develop.
• Basic computer skills.
• Aged 18 or over; full UK driving licence required.
