Job Snapshot

The Territory Manager purpose in this role is to effectively increase sales volume and revenue through medical device product sales year on year, whilst maintaining strong customer relations and increasing market share. The primary focus for this territory is to grow our Oncology market share. The portfolio comprises Microwave tumour ablation and Irreversible Electroporation for non‑thermal ablation.

It is critical that the TM acts with integrity and ethics, promoting the organisation and its values and increasing its standing within the market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with risk‑assessed policies and procedures relating to IT Security, Health and Safety.
  • Achieve company sales, profit margins and product targets.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the business, product range, technical specifications, prices, benefits and sales strategies.
  • Present products and services to clinicians, theatre/department managers and nursing staff.
  • Educate customers in the practical features, benefits, handling and new technologies.
  • Make territory plans to achieve sales and promotional targets.
  • Maintain daily sales activity reports, account records, expenses and other administration.
  • Maintain a business plan to maximise territory sales opportunities.
  • Review territory performance regularly with manager and write monthly reports.
  • Scan for and report competitor activity.
  • Promote and support study days, exhibitions and workshops on territory and throughout UK.
  • Develop and maintain product knowledge through self‑development and company training.
  • Communicate regularly with the Business Manager, planning conference calls and sales meetings.
  • Assist with marketing, research and product launches when necessary.
  • Travel overseas for international congresses, product training and supplier meetings.
  • Understand financial operations, purchasing and funding practices of client groups (e.g. NHS).
  • Influence, develop and negotiate with financial representatives to close sales within profit margins.
  • Use up‑to‑date product literature and presentations to stakeholders.
  • Communicate agreed sales strategies with NHS and private hospital personnel.
  • Effective use of relevant computer applications, communication tools and internal software systems.
Key Requirements
  • Full driver’s licence.

  • Professional skills in sales, territory analysis, budget management, presentation.
  • Experience managing pressure, deadlines and setbacks.
  • Ability to prioritise objectives and schedule work.
  • Ability to solicit orders from current and prospective customers.

  • Travel frequently through assigned territory.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
