Majestic Wine Leeds are looking for a dynamic, ambitious and driven individual who wants to grow and develop in a company that's revolutionising retail. Majestic is the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer, operating a network of over 200 stores nationwide. With no minimum purchase, the Majestic range includes over 1,100 different wines, spirits and beers both online and in‑store. Majestic’s key strength is over 1,000 WSET‑trained colleagues offering knowledgeable, friendly service across all channels.

The Role

As a Majestic Trainee Manager, you will embark on a 12‑month development programme that will give you a detailed understanding and experience of all operational, service & leadership standards expected to become a future Majestic Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and optimising KPI performance.
  • Deliver exceptional market‑leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty & repeat purchases.
  • Offer a VIP concierge service, actively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
  • Sell the story, not the discount – share your passion for product through an in‑depth knowledge of the range, managing tasting events and executing an enticing tasting counter.
  • Take ownership of your wine knowledge and support your WSET qualification.
  • Maintain the physical appearance and upkeep of the store.
  • Participate in all operational tasks to understand day‑to‑day store operations.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement to optimise store operations.
  • Ensure compliance, safety and legal requirements by following internal policies and completing mandatory training.
  • Own your development, utilising available support and resources.
  • Lead by example, supporting junior team members and feeding back to your Store Manager.
Knowledge & Skills Required
  • Experience in a fast‑paced, target‑driven retail or hospitality environment.
  • Demonstrated delivery of exceptional customer experience & service.
  • Ability to prioritise and strategically problem‑solve under pressure.
  • Self‑motivated and able to thrive independently and as part of a team.
  • Can‑do attitude with passion for solving problems.
  • Adaptable and resilient to meet changing business demands.
  • Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
  • Passion for wine and willingness to learn to pass WSET Level 2 & 3 qualifications.
  • Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence held for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
