We're looking for a creative, organized volunteer to help us share our story and engage our growing community online. This is an unpaid volunteer role offering a fantastic opportunity to build your portfolio whilst contributing to something truly pioneering.
Gympanzees is creating the world's first fully inclusive exercise, play and activity centre for children and young people aged 0-25 with disabilities and their families. Opening in 2026 in Austnear Bristol, we're addressing a critical gap: 77% of families with disabled children cannot access regular leisure activities.
We work on three core principles:
Gold Standard Inclusion, Pioneering Co-creation, and Unlocking Potential. Everything we do is designed with and for disabled people, their families and those who support them.
- Time commitment: Approximately one day per week (7-8 hours), flexible working
- Location: Remote, with occasional team meetings in Bristol area
- Write one blog post per fortnight (500-800 words) for our website
- Draft three social media posts per week across Linked In, Facebook and Instagram
- Create a fortnightly email newsletter for our community
- Repurpose existing content into guest blog posts for partner websites (one per month)
- Attend fortnightly catch-ups with Bryony, Head of Marketing
- Collaborate with our small, friendly marketing team
- Work from our comprehensive content calendar and brand guidelines
- Access templates, examples and clear briefing for every task
This voluntary role is ideal for:
- Marketing or communications students> in the latter stages of a relevant degree looking for practical experience
- Freelance writers or marketers who want to give something back whilst building portfolio content
- Corporate volunteers from companies that support employee volunteering programmes
- Career changers wanting to gain charity sector experience
- Strong writing skills with ability to craft engaging, accessible content
- Basic understanding of inclusive language and accessibility
- Organised approach with ability to meet deadlines
- Enthusiasm for our mission
- Experience writing for charities or social purpose organisations
- Understanding of the barriers disabled people and their families face
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (we use Mail Chimp)
- Interest in marketing, communications or journalism
- Portfolio of published content across multiple channels
- Experience working with a respected charity during a pivotal growth phase
- Training in accessible and inclusive communications
- Understanding of social media strategy and content planning
- Reference and Linked In recommendation on completion
- The satisfaction of helping create genuine social change
