Technical Production Operative - Leeds (LS14)

Our client, a reputable leader in the industrial sector, is hiring for a dedicated Technical Production Operative to join their team in Leeds. This role is vital in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high‑quality operation of machinery on site.

  • Shifts:

    12 hours (7-7) allocated weekly, typically 2 days – 2 nights – 4 off (repeat). Includes weekends, excludes bank holidays, and Christmas shutdown.
  • Training:
    The client is reviewing the training plan; it may be Monday‑Friday based or crew‑based.
  • Pay: £12.88 – £14.17, then £17.36 after 12 weeks.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Safely operate machinery following SOPs and instructions, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct routine changeovers, start‑up, and shut‑down procedures, aiming for continuous improvement using SMED techniques.
  • Manage materials in line with the production plan to meet weekly demands.
  • Perform daily checks, adjustments, and defect tagging as part of the R2S process.
  • Support problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis, and participate in pit stops, pre‑briefs, and de‑briefs.
  • Monitor quality standards, report issues, and assist in investigations using Q‑EWO.
  • Follow environmental protocols to minimise waste and handle hazardous materials correctly.
  • Communicate effectively across shifts, providing clear reports and operational insights.
What You'll Bring
  • Competence in operating machinery safely and understanding SOPs.
  • Basic knowledge of AM principles, machine adjustments, and digital tools.
  • Experience in following safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
  • Strong team player with good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Flexibility to support shift patterns and adapt to evolving technology.
  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science/Engineering or equivalent.
