A well-established, family-owned manufacturing business in Leeds is entering an exciting phase of growth and is looking to appoint a Production Supervisor to play a key role in supporting that journey.

Reporting into the Head of Operations, the Production Supervisor will take ownership of day-to-day shopfloor performance, ensuring production plans are delivered safely, efficiently and on time. The role involves leading and supporting a multi-skilled team across fitting, testing, fabrication, panel wiring and stock handling, while driving quality, delivery and continuous improvement.

Day to day, the role will involve allocating work across the production teams, providing hands-on support on the shopfloor when required, and identifying, reporting and resolving production issues. You’ll review works orders before production begins, read and proof-check engineering and schematic drawings, monitor quality standards, and ensure all production and compliance paperwork is accurately maintained. A key part of the role is coaching, supporting and motivating team members, maintaining training records, and actively contributing to Continuous Improvement, Quality and Health & Safety initiatives.

This opportunity would suit a confident, practical leader with a strong background in mechanical or electrical manufacturing, who enjoys being close to the operation and leading from the front. You’ll ideally have previous Team Leader or Supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, be comfortable working with changing priorities, and have the ability to understand mechanical and schematic drawings.

Experience with in a LEAN manufacturing or continuous improvement environment is highly beneficial, as are strong communication skills, attention to detail and a structured approach to problem solving. An apprenticeship and/or mechanical or electrical qualification is preferred.

Experience with distribution transformers would be advantageous but is not essential.

The salary on offer is £38,000 – £43,000, alongside a highly attractive benefits package.
