The Role

As a Cloud Ops Engineer you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operation optimisation and automation of customer Azure platforms. Working as part of TIEVAs Cloud Ops practice you’ll ensure environments remain secure, compliant and cost-efficient by managing performance, backup, monitoring and governance.

You’ll collaborate with Service Desk, Proactive and Security teams to deliver an exceptional managed service, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact customers. This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone who thrives on improving platforms through automation, scripting and best‑practice configuration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and support Azure environments (IaaS, PaaS, identity, networking).
  • Implement monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery posture using Azure Backup and ASR.
  • Automate operational tasks using Power Shell, Azure CLI and Logic Apps.
  • Apply governance and compliance frameworks (RBAC, tagging, policy, CAF, WAF).
  • Optimise cost and performance through Azure Advisor and Cost Management.
  • Document environments, runbooks and processes for consistent delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes and automation standards.
  • Maintain a strong focus on security, availability and customer satisfaction.
The Candidate

You’ll be a confident proactive engineer with a strong foundation in Azure operations, automation and hybrid infrastructure management. You’ll enjoy problem‑solving, working collaboratively and continuously improving both customer environments and your own technical skills.

Experience
  • 2 years in a Cloud Infrastructure or Systems Engineering role.
  • Experience managing production Azure environments and hybrid connectivity.
  • Strong understanding of Windows and/or Linux server environments.
  • Experience implementing monitoring, automation and backup solutions.
  • Familiar with Azure governance, compliance and cost optimisation practices.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficiency in Power Shell and Azure CLI.
  • Strong troubleshooting across compute, network and storage.
  • Understanding of Azure Policy, RBAC and secure configuration principles.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and time‑management capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104).
