The University of Leeds ranks among the world’s top 135 universities, with a truly global community of over 39,000 students from 170 countries and more than 9,000 staff representing over 100 nationalities.

The Research Infrastructure team is a core part of the University’s Advanced Research Computing (ARC) group and central to the University’s digital research mission. We design, build, and support the advanced platforms that power computationally intensive research in High Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics and Data Science. Backed by a transformational £27M University investment that is supercharging our computational capabilities, the team is the driving force behind delivering this ambitious programme.

We’re seeking a Lead Research Infrastructure Engineer to shape the University’s advanced research computing environment. In this role you’ll be working on a diverse range of AI and HPC platforms and infrastructure projects. You will be collaborating with world leading academic research teams to deliver on their project goals.

You are an experienced and collaborative engineer with a strong track record of solving complex technical challenges and enabling cutting-edge research. You’re comfortable taking ownership of high-impact projects in a dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. You demonstrate technical leadership, support and mentor others, and contribute to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
