Role Overview
The Line Focused Technician owns the PM and Tags Management processes for the line. They are responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses. They also build technical capability in operators.
StructureReporting to the Cell leader, working closely with the Cell team, operators and shift craft assigned to the cell.
Process / Tool Ownership and Responsibilities- Owns the PM process for the line, including deployment, execution, KPI reporting for meetings and continuous improvement of the process and standards.
- Owns the PM standards, including technical documentation, continuously driving improvement of the PM standards.
- Owns the Tags Management & planning process for the line.
- Owns and facilitates the weekly PM and Tags planning meeting.
- Liaises with the maintenance planner to procure parts and supports maintenance planning by updating the spare parts inventory policies.
- Owns the Breakdown Elimination process for the line, including deployment, execution, KPI reporting for meetings and continuous improvement of the process.
- Leads the Breakdown Elimination Process.
- Owns the building of technical capability in operators.
- Coaches operators and craft on processes.
- Supports the development and execution of distinct areas of the 90‑day plan and weekly/monthly plans.

- Apprentice trained in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical / Electrical engineering or equivalent; multi‑skilled preferred (or working towards).
- IOSH Managing Safely and Process Safety.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrable experience in building capability in others.
- Hazardous Area Electrical Training (electrical or dual only).
- Self‑motivated, positive attitude.
- Good team worker.
- Proven record of operational improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to teach/coaching basic problem‑solving tools at all levels.
