Title:

Practice Manager. Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. (International applications welcome)

The successful candidate we are seeking to recruit (at the earliest) will benefit from a wealth of experience and training with early responsibility and will be encouraged to develop both personally and professionally. The recruit will have excellent communication skills and must be fully IT literate. This role is an opportunity to gain extensive and holistic experience in accountancy within a busy, professional practice in West Yorkshire, U.K.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and supervise the accounting team, ensuring effective resource allocation and professional development.
    • Mentor staff, including bookkeepers and accountants, to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Client Service Delivery:
    • Ensure timely and budget‑compliant delivery of client work, maintaining high standards of service and overseeing the onboarding of new clients to ensure their needs are met effectively.
  • Compliance and Best Practices:
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including those set by the Tax Practitioner’s Board, and stay updated with industry best practices and technology to improve operational efficiency.
  • Operational Oversight:
    • Manage daily operations, including scheduling, workflow management, initiating improvements and collaborating with senior management to align operational strategies with business goals.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Promoting a culture of continuous improvement by implementing policies and procedures that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • The right candidate will need good judgement, strong leadership and organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as work on their own initiative. Additionally, they will have an innovative and creative approach to add value to the firm’s reputable position, and in order to fulfil the everyday needs of the business, as well as a sound understanding of confidentiality and professional ethics, and be of professional candidature at all times.

    Proficiency in accounting software and technology is also important.

    The successful applicant will be exposed to a challenging work environment, but within a supportive & friendly team framework. They would attend the ACCA/ICAEW networking events on a regular basis and will, therefore, be encouraged to promote the ACCA and ICAEW, as does the firm.

    Qualifications and Experience
    • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ICAEW or equivalent).
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in an accountancy practice.
    • Minimum of 1 year post‑qualification experience.
