Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust Estates Department are looking for an Electrical Estates Technician who will be based at Seacroft and Chapel Allerton Hospitals.

Asan Estates Technician youll have a mechanical or electrical background & will carry out your work with minimal supervision. This will include,maintenance, fault finding, repairs & installation work on all facilities,plant & equipment onsite & youwill also act as the Trust representative in the absence of the Estates Officer or when requested to do so as & when the need arises byline management
Workingon the full range of Estates Services equipment, you will undertake activities which require analysis of datato resolve technical issues on multifaceted equipment or situations, many ofwhich have a direct impact on patient safety & the built environment
Youllbe responsible for calibration & fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment including various voltage systems, steam raising plant & associated equipment, steam sterilizers, medical gas systems, nurse call systems, lighting, fire detection, building services controls, standby generator plant, heating & ventilation control systems & refrigeration plant
Undertake condition surveys, evaluating inspection reports & maintenance repairs,improvement & capital work across the Trust as directed by management,ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards & procedures
Plan & organise major interruptions, maintenance activities & co-ordinates work of others. Provides practical training to others & evaluates work

Jobresponsibilities
This versatile role means youll have the opportunity to work across two of our hospital sites and will be required to undertake maintenance and repairs onvarious items of plant, equipment and services.
Were looking for a self-starter who can demonstrate flexibility and initiative when dealing with a wide range of engineering services and will have experience maintaining equipment as part of a planned preventative maintenance system.
Thisrole is crucial to the running of our hospitals, and youll join a team of experienced, passionate estates experts, who will work with you, and support you as you help us keep our hospitals safe and working smoothly.
Applicants must have served an Electrical apprenticeship and have achieved HND Or demonstrable equivalent experience. Previous experience in a hospital maintenance environment is desirable.
Tobe successful, you will need to have good communication skills, as youll beworking with a wide range of colleagues across the Trust and be expected tocarry out all duties in an efficient and effective manner.

Acompetitive salary pro rata Band 5 £ 31049-£37796 to reflect 2025/2026 pay award (Inc.enhancements for unsocial hours.)
Annual leave starting at 27 days per annum plus statutory bank holidays rising to 33days and more
