Caretaker - Supply

Randstad Education is searching for a dependable School Caretaker to support one of our partner schools in Leeds
. This role is essential for maintaining a high-quality learning environment for both students and staff.

As a School Caretaker, you will be the primary point of contact for site maintenance and security:

• Site Security: Managing the opening and closing of the school, including alarm setting and keyholding.

• Maintenance & Repairs: Tackling general DIY tasks such as minor plumbing, carpentry, and painting.

• Health & Safety: Performing vital safety checks, including fire alarm testing and water temperature monitoring.

• Grounds Upkeep: Ensuring all external areas are tidy, safe, and clear of hazards or litter.

• Porterage: Assisting with the movement of furniture and equipment for school events or deliveries.

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  Experience:
  
  You must have previous experience in a caretaking or facilities maintenance role within the UK.

• Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service is essential (or a willingness to apply for one).

• Technical Ability: Practical skills in general maintenance and a "hands-on" approach to work.

• Communication: The ability to work well with school leadership and communicate effectively with staff and visitors.

• Local Opportunities: Work in schools right here in the Leeds area.

• Flexibility: Both long-term and short-term placements available to suit your needs.
