As a qualified Mechanical or Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for keeping a modern fleet of rolling stock operational and safe.
Whether you're from a background in HGV maintenance, aerospace, plant machinery, marine, the armed forces, or REMEs, your transferable skills in heavy maintenance are exactly what we need. EssentialSkills & Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Proven heavy maintenance experience in industrial or capital equipment.
- Practical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and braking systems.
- A team player with a strong commitment to safe working practices.
- Preventative Maintenance: Carry out planned maintenance activities to ensure the long‑term reliability and safety of the fleet.
- Reactive Maintenance: Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime and keep operations running smoothly.
- Operational Excellence: Adhere to rigorous engineering standards and procedures, maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times.
- Data Management: Accurately record all maintenance, defect, and repair information to support ongoing fleet performance analysis.
You’ll work on a 4‑on, 4‑off shift rota (2 days, 2 nights), with 12‑hour shifts from 7:00am–7:00pm. This pattern gives you consistent long breaks between shifts, allowing plenty of time to rest, recharge and enjoy life outside of work.
You must also pass pre‑employment checks, including a Drugs & Alcohol screening and a full rail medical.
