Initial 12 month period
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Supply Chain Planner to join their Leeds site on a 12 month contract to cover a leave of absence. This is a key role within a complex, global supply chain environment, where you will take ownership of supplier performance, manage daily planning activity and work closely with cross functional teams to maintain service and inventory performance across the network.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a complex portfolio of global suppliers, driving active supplier performance management
- Communicate regularly with suppliers and collaborate with internal stakeholders across multiple functions
- Achieve and continuously improve customer service levels and inventory targets
- Balance supply and demand across a critical segment of the supply chain
- Oversee daily operational processes and ensure continuity of supply
- Identify and eliminate potential supply chain failures through proactive planning
- Champion preventative practices to reduce expediting and elevate risks appropriately
- Lead cross functional stakeholders to deliver short and mid term tactical improvements
- Utilise Six Sigma methodologies to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor inbound materials and coordinate closely with integrators and logistics partners
- Degree educated in Supply Chain, Business or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience in supplier performance management, including Class 1 and 2 level escalations
- Strong planning and analytical background within a supply chain environment
- Experience driving continuous improvement activity directly with suppliers
- Understanding of total cost of ownership, trade offs and network exception management
- Experience tracking and managing inbound materials
- Ability to collaborate with data teams to optimise key planning parameters
- Track record of delivering both personal and team results within a networked environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with in a complex, global supply chain environment
- Exposure to inventory optimisation and advanced planning tools
- Formal Six Sigma training or certification
