Overview

Department: Finance Dispute Resolution

Location: Leeds

We are seeking a driven Paralegal to join our Finance Dispute Resolution department at an exciting time of growth. As a Paralegal you will assist the Partner in the department with a range of complex and contentious matters relating to secured lending. You will ensure that clients, represented by Flint Bishop, receive pro-active, consistent, and efficient levels of service. The role is full time, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week at our office in Leeds.

Reporting to the Head of Finance Dispute Resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Partner of the Finance Dispute Resolution department with a complex and contentious caseload.
  • Matter creation on Casenet.
  • Handle incoming telephone calls and correspondence from clients in a timely manner.
  • Undertake fee-earning work accurately, reliably and in accordance with the Firm’s quality and risk management procedures.
  • Manage finances of matters, including accurate time recording and billing, and monitor WIP levels.
  • Pursue personal development, ensuring technical, interpersonal and soft skills are up-to-date; participate in training, coaching and personal development reviews, and, where appropriate, assist in training and supervising less experienced staff in the department.
  • Maintain the highest standard of client care and service for all Firm clients.
  • Make outbound calls to clients, their key suppliers, and relevant parties linked to a property.
  • Work to clients’ agreed service levels and departmental service standards.
  • Perform any other tasks as set by the Partner or Head of Finance Dispute Resolution.
Skills, knowledge and expertise
  • Excellent telephone handling skills and strong communication abilities.
  • Preferably experience in property or litigation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Focus on resolutions and positive outcomes.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work to tight deadlines with caseloads.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to develop with the team and the business.
