Senior Construction Underwriter – Allianz UK

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a challenging role in our expert-led Allianz Construction team. As an integral member within the Regional team your focus will be on profitable growth, retention and technical excellence in building a world‑class, multi‑niche Insurance & Engineering related service, with ambitious growth targets.

• Underwrite construction risks with associated casualty/l iability cover, ensuring customer business growth and retention.
• Act as a Senior Authority holder focused on winning and retaining large and complex business.
• Provide excellent service to customers and build successful broker relationships.
• Support the development and execution of the regional underwriting strategy.
• Generate new producer relationships and contribute to key projects.
• Negotiate price, terms and conditions with producers and support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business.
• Drive involvement of functional areas (e.g. MMC, ARC, Claims, Operations) in the underwriting process.
• Build and maintain strong प्रकृतिक relationships with key producers, clients and other stakeholders (e.g fin managers).

This role will be hybrid from our offices in either Manchester, Leeds or Birmingham.

Pay:
Circa £50,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

• Positively represent Allianz externally to the market.

• Seasoned professional with a proven track record in construction underwriting, heavy focus on civils.
• Confident and articulate, comfortable engaging with brokers and undertaking negotiations.
• Analytical and strategic, able to review submissions and understand Allianz’s appetite whilst considering market conditions.
• Team player yet self‑motivated, willing to train/mentor junior team members.
• Competent IT skills.
