Cloud Engineer - Inside IR35 - Reading/Havant - Private Sector Day Rate - up to £650 Duration - 6 months

Harvey Nash's Client are looking to bring in a contract Dev Ops engineer, you will support the digital transformation and migration of applications to Cloud, ensuring the platform achieves the target standards of efficiency, resilience and availability required by the organisation. This is a key role providing the right candidate with the opportunity to contribute to projects across several areas and cloud platforms.

As a team player, you will work closely with a team of strategists, architects, and engineers to craft technical solutions that accelerate our business.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the project teams, application owners and 3rd parties to support migrations to AWS.
  • Identify and support the resolution of any issues during migration, including terraform and Git Hub actions issues and network connectivity via firewalls.
  • Collaborate with the wider cloud team on potential enhancements in centrally provided resources (e.g. Terraform modules).
  • Provide support and best practice guidance for application teams on adopting our platforms.
  • Share updates and knowledge from the migration process with the wider team to help drive awareness of the migration status.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Understanding of Amazon AWS from an infrastructure/platform perspective and Cloud Native Architectures is essential, knowledge of Microsoft Azure is desirable but not essential. A Cloud Certification in either Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure is desirable, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Operating Systems (Windows and/or Linux) and Networking Principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of operational support best practices and processes.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and the ability to write software scripts in at least one general-purpose programming or scripting language (for example: Python, Power Shell, Bash).
  • Strong communication skills to be able to collaborate with teams across the organisation to help support cloud adoption.
