Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled and delivery-focused engineer to lead the implementation of Microsoft 365 technologies, AI, and other digital solutions across the organisation. As a Lead Delivery Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of secure, scalable, and user-centric services while also exploring and deploying new technologies that enhance our digital workplace like Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Agents.

Flexible Working Options

This role is open to flexible working patterns, including:

  • Job share
  • Flexible start and end times
  • Compressed hours (subject to approval)
  • Working from abroad (subject to policy)
  • Hybrid working with a minimum of 40% office attendance per month

A Day in the Role

Your day might begin with a stand-up to align with your team’s sprint. Next, you may have some project work to do or a project meeting to attend, where you’ll be modernising the Bank through the services you’re responsible for. After that, you may draft and raise a change request through the Bank’s formal processes to change or update a policy in the Teams Admin Center the following week.

If you’re in the office, you could have lunch in the canteen with some of your colleagues. In the afternoon, you may have a support call from a user about a SharePoint Online issue and ensure our monitoring tools haven't alerted us to anything untoward. Once you’ve sorted that call, you’ll document the fix so that colleagues in your team and division better understand the services you support.

The rest of the afternoon could be spent reviewing the technical documentation of an upcoming feature for Copilot Agents and identify any required actions for the team.

Role Requirements

Are you passionate about delivering high-impact technology solutions? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy collaborating across teams to drive outcomes? Maybe you already have experience leading technical delivery in Microsoft 365 environments or are eager to step into a more strategic role?

Minimum Criteria
We’re looking for someone who has the following key skills and experience:

  • Experience of building effective working relationships with others and provide challenge where appropriate
  • Attention to detail with the ability to craft concise, informational documentation
  • Experience researching, evaluating, and planning the deployment of new or unfamiliar technologies
  • Proven experience delivering complex technical projects or services at scale
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 technologies including Teams, SharePoint Online, Entra , and Microsoft 365 Office suite of applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills

Essential Criteria
We are interested in hearing from candidates who have the following capabilities:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional delivery teams
  • Experience with scripting tools like Windows Power Shell and Power Shell
  • Experience of owning and managing services at a third line level, including building roadmaps, improvement plans, and developing services beyond just fixing issues

Desirable Criteria
It would also be beneficial, but not necessary, to have some of the following:

  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and service management
  • Experience in regulated or public sector environments
  • Exposure to data governance, compliance, or security frameworks
  • Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Agents administration
  • Understanding of Group Policy management and user administration in a hybrid Active Directory environment
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
  • Knowledge of Purview and Compliance around document management, information protection and other communication compliance tools
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Agents, and Copilot Studio
