The Role: To provide a high‑quality, face‑to‑face IT service to students and staff based on one of the GBS campuses. To provide senior technical support to ensure GBS systems function appropriately and to support and guide your team of IT Technicians.

What

The Role Involves
  • Raise, respond to and allocate IT tickets within the Service Management system.
  • Set up and configure PC/laptop equipment with required operating systems, installing software and drivers where necessary.
  • Aide in the use of computer hardware and software provided by GBS.
  • Provide technical support for the movement and setup of Audio Visual and IT equipment as required.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose problems, implement corrective action procedures within prescribed guidelines and/or Escalate to other technical resources as appropriate.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT Technicians to aid in troubleshooting, diagnosis of problems, implementation of corrective action procedures, and escalation to other technical resources.
  • Perform tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
  • Maintain records/legs of loan equipment, repairs and fixes and maintenance schedules.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
  • Provide general administration support, such as printing, filing, processing and collating information as required by the IT department.
  • Travel between campuses may be required to support the needs of the department. When required, provide printing and support for  production.
About You
  • Experience of managing a team of Technicians.
  • Excellent knowledge of network infrastructure, internet security and data privacy principles (CCNA, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals or equivalents).
  • Hands‑on experience with installation of operating systems and software, computer networks, network administration and network installation.
  • Experience of providing IT support remotely (by phone, online chat) and in person.
  • Knowledge of service management systems and ITIL best practice.
  • Knowledge of technical management, information analysis and computer hardware/software systems.
  • Knowledge of MS Office 365, Intune, Azure Active Directory, Azure App management, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring.
  • Knowledge of implementing, configuring, and testing solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder management.
  • High degree of problem‑solving skills.
