where will your journey take you?
- Manage and convert incoming event and group enquiries
- Provide a compelling sales experience to drive conversion and repeat business
- Prepare detailed event documentation and coordinate with all hotel departments to ensure smooth event execution
- Liaise with clients throughout the planning process, confirming all event details verbally and in writing
- Conduct engaging show rounds to showcase the hotel and win new business
- Identify opportunities to upsell and maximise event revenue
- Manage bedroom blocks and meeting space inventory for assigned groups
- Accurately forecast group rooms and event revenue
- Coordinate pre- and post-event meetings to review group needs and feedback
- Proactively re-solicit previous clients to secure future business
- Work within Marriott brand standards and sales processes at all times
- Ensure booking integrity and accuracy using hotel systems
Experience
- Background in customer service, sales, or event management
- Hotel experience preferred
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication (verbal, listening, and written)
- Knowledge of meetings and event planning
- Understanding of menu planning, banquet service, and event operations
- Knowledge of event technology and current industry trends
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Ability to build lasting client relationships
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and hotel systems
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Set a positive example for guest relations
- Respond professionally and efficiently to guest feedback and concerns
- Ensure all departments understand event requirements and service expectations
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve the planner and guest experience
- Deliver a high-impact sales approach to increase conversion
- Upsell products and services throughout the event lifecycle
- Assist with site visits and client inspections
- Manage customer budgets effectively while maximising revenue
- Discounts on hotel rooms, gift shop items, food and beverage
- Learning and development opportunities
- Recognition programs including incentives and an annual awards celebration
- Wellbeing programs including free massages and chiropody sessions
