Ourlarge friendly Nutrition and Dietetic service consists of 4 adult teams and 1childrens team which include many regional specialist services. Our department employs Dietetic Assistants, Dietetic Associate Practitioners,Apprentice Dietitians, Dietitians and Enteral Feeding Nurse Specialists. Weare part of the Adult Therapies Clinical Service Unit where our vision is toempower staff to provide the best care for our patients, body, mind and soul.
The Nutrition and Dietetic Department provides regular professional development events, and hosts training to A, B and C placement students and apprentice dietitians.
Youwill be actively involved in the development, implementation and audit ofpatient care practices as part of Clinical Governance.
Thepost offers excellent opportunities for professional and personal development as the clinical services evolve. As a department we are committed topatient-centered care and welcome those who have had Behavioral Change training.
Main duties of the jobYouwill provide and oversee highly specialised oncology dietetic care to inpatients and outpatients with a wide range of clinical conditions(excluding those patients with Head & Neck Cancer) both at a local andregional level. Clinical experience in oncology clinical pathways is essential. The patient group includes complex oncology and Gastrointestinal oncology with significant nutritional support needs this often includes initiation and management of enteral feeding and support on discharge.
Thepost-holder will also have operational responsibilities for the team,supported and shared alongside the Band 7 Haematology Lead Dietitian, in supervising junior staff members with caseload management and clinical supervision. The post is pivotal in leading aspects of clinical training for students, dietetic staff and other health care professionals working within
Oncology and complex artificial feeding. The post-holder will also be actively involved in the development and implementation of guidelines andaudit of patient care practices as part of the service quality assurance framework and will be expected to participate in dietetic working groups.

Jobresponsibilities
Provide advanced, highly specialised dietetic care to patients at local and regional level. This will include advice to patients and all healthcare staff. Provide and lead aspects of clinical training of dietetic students. Support Clinical dietetic Manager in co-ordinating activities of the team and providing support and supervision to staff. Lead in research and audit within specialised clinical area and disseminate findings.
