Mainduties of the job
To work as part of a multi/interdisciplinary team, providing clinical psychology and neuropsychology input within the Brainkind neurobehavioral model to service users with acquired brain injury. You will consult with internal and external professionals, family members and service users, engage in relevant research and advise other professionals as appropriate.
Job Responsibilities- Provide specialist psychological/neuropsychological assessment of adults with acquired brain injury, utilising and interpreting information from tests, scales, observations and interviews.
- Coordinate service users' care as appropriate and agreed with supervisor, acting as keyworker/clinical lead.
- Formulate and implement plans of specialist psychological and/or neuropsychological intervention to support neurorehabilitation, based on best practice.
- Elicit personal goals from service users and translate to SMART goals with the team.
- Undertake psychological therapeutic and rehabilitation interventions (individual, family, group) adapted to needs and evaluate outcomes.
- Provide specialist psychological advice to multi/interdisciplinary formulation, therapeutic approaches, and oversee implementation.
- Conduct risk assessment and risk management, advising on psychological aspects of risk.
- Maintain high standard of clinical record keeping per Brainkind, professional and national standards.
- Collect relevant data on work activities as required.
- Communicate via written, virtual, verbal methods to a high standard, timely and confidentially.
- Consult with and provide psychological guidance to carers and families.
- Exercise autonomous professional judgement and manage own caseload with supervision as required.
- Participate in regular on‑call support on rota.
- Demonstrate duty of care to equipment and resources supplied by Brainkind.
- Stay informed of current research and evaluations to support evidence‑based practice.
- Contribute to project management and complex audits, assisting colleagues to develop service provision.
- Coordinate administration of agreed outcome measures.
- Initiate and conduct psychologically based research relevant to care of adults with acquired brain injury, with approval.
- Keep abreast of developments in clinical psychology and neuropsychology.
- Competitive salary of £47,810 – £54,710 DOE per annum

- Degree in Psychology, accepted by BPS for Graduate Basis Registration (G ) or equivalent.
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (BPS accredited) or equivalent to register as a practitioner psychologist with the HCPC.
- Registered with the HCPC.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation concerning the service user group.
- Relevant experience in producing clinical reports.

- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to research, analyse and manage complex multi‑factorial clinical information.
- Resilience to work with unpredictable service users (demanding, verbally and physically aggressive).
- Ability to work effectively as part of an Inter/Multidisciplinary Team.
- Experience or interest in neuropsychology research or work.
