Nuclear Medicine are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic member of staff tojoin our team. The Nuclear Medicine departments operate 6 gamma cameras across St James Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary, scanning outpatients, inpatients and paediatrics. Thisbusy department requires an individual with excellent communication skills towork as part of our administrative team. The applicant should have accomplished computer skills, a caring and friendly demeanour, and a keen eyefor detail.
The post is both challenging and rewarding and is most suited toan individual who can prioritise their workload, respond quickly to changing situations and work effectively in a busy environment. An understanding ofthe basics of the procedures undertaken in Nuclear Medicine and PET CTimaging would be advantageous but not essential to answer patient enquires effectively and efficiently. This is a rotational, full time (37.5 hours aweek) position so will involve working at both St James and Leeds General Infirmary.

Main duties of the jobThis varied administrative role will involve a number of different clerical duties. These include; being a first point of contact for patients arriving at, or ringing the department, answering patient queries, managing patient referrals and appointment bookings, adding reports to radiology systems,dealing with phone calls/emails from other service users or staff members from outside of the department, managing the generic Nuclear Medicine email inboxes and such like.
You may also beasked to type letters, take minutes for meetings, be responsible for stockand organise room bookings/meetings.

Jobresponsibilities
Thepost holder will be responsible for the provision of a full and effective administrative and clerical support service to the Service. He/she will alsobe responsible for inputting data onto the departmental database system and producing reports as required. The post holder will be expected to arrange and plan her/his own work on a day-to-day basis within the overall demands and priorities of the department.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
Must be willing to attend relevant training courses.
A good awareness of and understanding of issues surrounding diversity and patient involvement.
Competent in word processing,spread sheet packages and in using databases.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good command of spoken and written
English.
Numerate
Able to use own initiative.
Work experience in a health orsocial care setting.
Knowledge of NHS
Personal or work experience ofworking with diversity e.g. disabled people, people from different cultures.
The ability to communicate in anethnic minority language and/or in British Sign Language would be a bonus.
Competent in using other software(such as Access databases and web authoring software).
