Wehave an exciting new Project Management opportunity to further develop Researchacross the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Department.

Wehave funding to support a 0.4 WTE Project Manager for a 12-month fixed termperiod. The role will sit within our Business Management section.

Be an experienced Project Manager with strong leadership skills.

Be driven, ambitious and passionate about improving patient care.

Responsible for managing multipleresearch projects with variable budgets between £5000 to £250,000.

Responsible for developing and implementing work instructions, and processes to support research within the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Department.

Main duties of the job

AsProject Manager responsible for developing Research across the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Department, you will work closely with theLead for Research & Innovation and Radiotherapy Imaging and a complex range of stakeholders, includingindustry, academia, and the NHS.

MPCEsupports the established range of applications of physics and engineering in medicine, and seeks to be actively involved in the development, assessment,implementation and audit of new and existing health care technologies and procedures.

The business management and administration section is led by a professional service manager. The scientific and technical sections within the Departmentare:
Radiotherapy Physics, Radionuclide & MRI Physics, Clinical Engineering, Radiological Physics and Clinical Scientific Computing. Overallthe Department has approximately 350 staff.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • ECDL
Experience
  • Has experience of managing projects in a structured environment ideally in accordance with the NHS standard for Project Management (Prince
    2).
  • Has experience of delivering projects which deliver systems & support in clinical environments which required clinical & non-clinical staff to modify their way of working
  • Has successfully introduced new or updated systems to meet user requirements.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Has experience of projects that span multiple organisations.
  • Has contributed to the development of strategy and its tactical implementation.
