A Local Authority in the Midlands is seeking an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to support the Private Sector Housing team on an initial 3-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.
This role will focus on leading and supporting the Council’s new statutory duties under the Renters’ Rights Act. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the Council’s approach to regulation within the Private Rented Sector.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support the Council’s implementation of new statutory duties under the Renters’ Rights Act
- Design and develop systems, processes, governance arrangements and data management relating to Private Rented Sector regulation
- Support the development of operational procedures for enforcement and compliance
- Provide specialist advice to internal teams on regulatory responsibilities within the Private Rented Sector
- Assist in preparing the service for forthcoming regulatory requirements and policy changes
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners where required
- Strong experience within Private Sector Housing or housing enforcement in a Local Authority
- Knowledge of Private Rented Sector regulation and housing legislation
- Experience developing processes, systems or procedures within a regulatory environment
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use
£40 per hour (Umbrella)
Initial 3-month contract with strong potential for extension
Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week on-site
