The successful candidate will be a highly flexible, well-motivated self-starter who possesses excellent communication skills. Having a proactive approach to problem solving, whilst developing relationships with stakeholders, partners. You will be working within a diverse service across the city’s parks and green spaces.

It’s the opportunity to have a positive impact to a service, by ensuring the safe operations of Green spaces and visitor attractions across the city along with all the activity that happens within them.

Our parks offer a wealth of recreational opportunities, including walking, football and cricket pitches, tennis courts, bowling greens, playgrounds, along with some of the City’s busiest visitor attractions and animal collections. Parks are also a vibrant hub for events, hosting everything from the
Ironman and to major concerts like
Slam Dunk and the Roundhay Festival, new for 2026.

About you

As a Weekend Operations Officer you will bring to the role:

About the role

As our next Weekend Operations Officer, you’ll will be part of a passionate, dedicated team, working in varied environments.

You will work closely with contractors, stakeholders and other employees of Leeds City Council and create close working relationships with all.

  • Provide visible leadership across designated sites on a rota basis.
  • Support staff in managing escalated issues,
  • Take the lead in emergency situations in line with the service's business continuity plan, and ensure that all activity taking place is in line with the designated health and safety arrangements
