The Combined Authority is looking for an Information Governance Manager & Data Protection Officer
, to join our Legal and Governance team.

As our Information Governance Manager & Data Protection Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the Combined Authority meets its legal obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004. You will provide line management for a small team of Information Governance colleagues and will also have responsibility for delivering a range of projects whilst supporting senior leaders and the wider organisation with expert advice.

The Role

Reporting into the Service Lead (Governance, Compliance & Risk),your key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking the strategic lead on all matters of Information Governance, including Data Protection, Freedom of Information & Records Management
  • Effectively leading and managing the Information Governance team in delivering an efficient and effective Information Governance Service.
  • Undertaking the statutory role of the Data Protection Officer and acting autonomously and independently to carry out statutory duties.
