At MPS, policy and public affairs sit at the heart of how we advocate for and support our global membership. We’re looking for an experienced Policy and Public Affairs Manager to join our team on a 9-month fixed term contract, covering maternity leave.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring MPS understands, anticipates and influences policy, political, stakeholder and legislative developments that affect our members worldwide. Working closely with expert colleagues across the organisation, you’ll help shape evidence-based policy positions and support effective engagement with governments, healthcare organisations and other key stakeholders.

As our Policy and Public Affairs Manager, you will:
  • Monitor, analyse and respond to policy, political, legislative and stakeholder developments that impact MPS and its membership globally
  • Support delivery of the Corporate Affairs strategy by providing strategic advice and counsel to senior leaders and specialists
  • Develop and help lead evidence-based policy positions that underpin MPS communications and thought leadership
  • Lead or support assigned projects, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality, with clear measures of impact and return on investment
  • Build and manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including national governments and healthcare organisations
  • Produce high-quality briefings and communications for senior stakeholders, including bespoke materials for meetings and engagements
  • Play an active role in identifying and managing policy, political and reputational risks, providing robust challenge where needed
The ideal candidate:
  • Has demonstrable experience at a relevant level within policy, public affairs, government relations or a related field
  • Is an exceptional communicator, able to write and speak persuasively for a wide range of audiences, including senior decision-makers
  • Has a proven track record of engaging with policymakers, influencers and stakeholders, and responding to consultations, reviews or inquiries
  • Is confident briefing senior colleagues, both verbally and in writing, on complex and sensitive issues
  • Brings strong research skills, with the ability to distil clear insights from substantial and complex information
  • Can manage multiple work streams and projects simultaneously, prioritising effectively in a fast-moving environment

We may close this listing early if we find the right candidate, so early applications are encouraged.
