Finance Assistant (Accounts Payable)
East Leeds (near Garforth) | Up to £26,000 DOE | Office-Based
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and well-established business in a Finance Assistant role with genuine long-term potential.
Working as part of a friendly and supportive finance team, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day Accounts Payable process while building a strong foundation in transactional finance. What you’ll get involved in- Processing supplier invoices and maintaining accurate purchase ledger records
- Monitoring the AP inbox and responding to supplier queries
- Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
- Assisting with the preparation of supplier payment runs
- Supporting bank and ledger reconciliations
- Maintaining strong audit trails and financial controls
- Providing support to the wider finance team where required
- Contributing to process improvements as the function develops
- Has around 6-12 months’ experience in transactional finance (AP, AR or similar)
- Demonstrates a positive, proactive and 'get up and go' attitude
- Is ambitious and motivated to build a long-term career in finance
- Shows strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Is organised and able to manage priorities effectively
- Has good Excel and finance system skills
- Communicates confidently with colleagues and suppliers
- Brings a team-focused and can-do approach
Candidates studying (or planning to study) AAT would be well aligned, though this is not essential.
