The Role
This is a brand-new, full-time role working closely with the Finance Manager and the wider finance team. You’ll play a key part in supporting the delivery of team objectives and helping improve processes as the organisation scales.
As part of our continued growth, our client is expanding the back-office operations and are now looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our finance team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare draft monthly management accounts for review.
- Lead and support the transactional finance team during month end (reconciliations, accruals, prepayments).
- Assist with process improvements and ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Support intercompany invoicing and reconciliations.
- Complete month-end FX ledger reconciliations.
- Assist with VAT processes and submissions (UK & Ireland).
- Prepare weekly payment runs across multiple purchase ledgers.
- Manage debtors alongside the finance team.
- Support cashflow forecasting and margin analysis.
- Prepare sales commission statements.
- Carry out general finance duties, analysis, and audit support.
- Supervise and assist the transactional team.
- Provide ad hoc support to senior finance management.
- AAT Qualified (preferred, not essential)
- Experience supervising a finance team (preferred)
- Strong analytical, numerical and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
- Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to multitask effectively.
- High attention to detail.
- Experience using Sage 50, Xero or similar systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially intermediate/advanced Excel.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
