The Role

This is a brand-new, full-time role working closely with the Finance Manager and the wider finance team. You’ll play a key part in supporting the delivery of team objectives and helping improve processes as the organisation scales.

As part of our continued growth, our client is expanding the back-office operations and are now looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our finance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare draft monthly management accounts for review.
  • Lead and support the transactional finance team during month end (reconciliations, accruals, prepayments).
  • Assist with process improvements and ensure compliance with internal policies.
  • Support intercompany invoicing and reconciliations.
  • Complete month-end FX ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist with VAT processes and submissions (UK & Ireland).
  • Prepare weekly payment runs across multiple purchase ledgers.
  • Manage debtors alongside the finance team.
  • Support cashflow forecasting and margin analysis.
  • Prepare sales commission statements.
  • Carry out general finance duties, analysis, and audit support.
  • Supervise and assist the transactional team.
  • Provide ad hoc support to senior finance management.
About You
  • AAT Qualified (preferred, not essential)
  • Experience supervising a finance team (preferred)
  • Strong analytical, numerical and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
  • Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience using Sage 50, Xero or similar systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially intermediate/advanced Excel.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
