Howard James Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a Leeds-based business in their search for an experienced Credit Controller / Sales Ledger Assistant to join their finance team on a part-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for reduced hours while still playing a key role in a busy and supportive finance function.

The Role

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the sales ledger and supporting credit control activities to ensure timely and accurate cash collection.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Managing the sales ledger and maintaining accurate customer accounts

* Chasing outstanding debt via phone and email in a professional manner

* Allocating customer payments and resolving invoice queries

* Raising sales invoices and credit notes

* Reconciling customer statements

* Supporting month-end processes

* Building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders

* Assisting with general finance administration as required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

* Have proven experience in credit control and/or sales ledger roles

* Be confident communicating with customers regarding payments

* Have strong attention to detail and good organisational skills

* Be comfortable managing your own workload independently

* Have good working knowledge of accounting systems (Sage, Xero or similar advantageous)

* Be confident using Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
