Finance Associate - Engagement Finance Champion (12-Month FTC)Location: Birmingham or Leeds (Hybrid - 2 days per week in the office)
Our client, a leading professional services organisation, is seeking a Finance Associate to join their team as an Engagement Finance Champion on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high-performing finance function, supporting key stakeholders and driving best practices across the business.
The RoleAs an Engagement Finance Champion, you will play a critical role in supporting finance operations and ensuring compliance with processes and policies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Building a strong understanding of finance processes and the business you support.
- Managing queries and requests outside the scope of standard finance support teams, using workflow systems to track resolutions.
- Reviewing WIP (Work in Progress) reports, identifying risks and billing opportunities, and escalating underperformance where necessary.
- Partnering with stakeholders to ensure engagement teams understand and meet lock-up targets.
- Meeting with engagement leaders to discuss billing actions and improve financial performance.
- Promoting adherence to finance policies and escalating deviations.
- Supporting compliance and educating teams on finance-related processes.
- Acting as a champion for change initiatives, including automation, self-service, and process standardisation.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge bases and process documentation.
- Taking ownership of your performance and identifying areas for growth.
- Previous experience in a customer service or finance-related role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
- Resilient and confident working with multiple stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset and proactive approach.
- Strong numeracy skills - preference for Maths A-Level or equivalent.
- Hybrid working model (2 days per week in Birmingham or Leeds office).
