Management Accountant

Job Summary

Location:

Leeds, Gelderd Road – Hybrid working, 3 days in office.

We are seeking a Management Accountant to provide accurate and timely accounting and reporting for operating expenditure in Associated Waste Management Ltd.

• Assist the Finance Manager with operating expenditure accounting, owning certain P&L lines.
• Ensure intercompany transactions are correctly recorded across the UK business.
• Review costs, explain variances to budget and KPIs.
• Investigate and resolve queries and discrepancies, collaborating with the finance team.
• Use SAGE / Workday to ensure accurate reporting.
• Maintain robust accounting of accruals and prepayments on the balance sheet.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure a “right‑first‑time” approach to purchase orders and invoicing.
• Present monthly results to the Finance Manager and Finance Committee.
• Assist with annual budgeting and external audit for operating expenditure.
• Support the embedding of the new ERP system.

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
• Proactive approach to resolving queries.
• Strong collaborative style.
• Diligent and detail‑oriented.
• Confident communicator.
• Experience in industry & commerce is preferable.
