An established and highly regarded Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy based on the outskirts of Leeds is looking to welcome a Senior Structural Engineer into its growing team. Known for its collaborative culture and people-focused approach, the practice has built a strong reputation for delivering practical, high-quality engineering solutions across a wide range of sectors. With a healthy pipeline of work and a growing client base, the team is looking to appoint an experienced Structural Engineer who enjoys working collaboratively and taking ownership of projects from concept through to completion. The role will involve working across a variety of building projects including commercial, industrial, residential and mixed-use developments, as well as refurbishment and work on existing buildings including listed structures.

You will play an important role in delivering structural designs that are both technically robust and commercially practical, working closely with architects, contractors and fellow consultants to develop efficient engineering solutions that meet client objectives and programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Leading the structural design and delivery of projects across a variety of building sectors

* Undertaking structural analysis and design using materials including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber

* Managing projects through all design stages from concept through to construction

* Attending design meetings with clients, architects, contractors and other members of the project team

* Coordinating design information and ensuring projects are delivered in line with programme and budget

* Supporting and mentoring Project Engineers, Graduates and Technicians within the team

* Contributing to design reviews and maintaining high technical and quality standards

You will ideally be Chartered, Incorporated or working toward and have strong experience working within a consultancy environment delivering structural design on building projects. You will be confident managing projects independently and representing the business in meetings with clients and other project stakeholders.

Experience with industry-standard structural design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla TEDDS, Master Series, Bentley RAM and CADS packages would be beneficial. The wider design team also works extensively with modern engineering and BIM technologies including AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Infraworks, Autodesk Vehicle Tracking and XP Solutions Micro Drainage, alongside specialist geotechnical and monitoring tools such as Rocscience, Holebase and Solinst Levelogger.
