Engineering Project Manager

Alexander Steele are once again working with a well-established, multi-site, global food manufacturing business seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to deliver capital and infrastructure projects within a fast-paced production environment.

This is a hands-on role managing projects end-to-end from concept and design through to installation, commissioning and handover while maintaining strict environmental, H&S and performance standards.

Salary is £75k, plus car, bonus and pension.

The Role:

• Manage multiple concurrent engineering projects in line with company standards
• Lead tender processes and appoint suppliers, agreeing contracts and terms
• Work cross-functionally with Operations, Technical, Commercial and NPD to define equipment and plant design criteria
• Conduct feasibility studies and engineering design reviews for major capital projects
• Draft and present CAPEX proposals
• Oversee contractors on-site, ensuring works are delivered safely and to specification
• Manage projects across Buildings, Mechanical, Electrical and Process
• Control budgets, spend, purchase orders and invoicing
• Maintain CAD layouts and detailed site documentation
• Support wider engineering and technical challenges across sites when required

Success in this role means delivering projects safely, on time, to scope and budget with minimal disruption to 24/7 operations.

About You:

• Degree-qualified in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Strong hands-on background within a food production or food manufacturing environment
• Proven experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Comfortable overseeing contractors within live operational settings
• Experience delivering projects involving M&E services, utilities, new equipment and building works
• Working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations
• Proficient in AutoCAD and project management tools
