Lab Engineer

Lab Engineer (Data Center) £300-£370p/day (Inside IR35) Leeds (4 days a week) 6 month contract (initially)

Our client is looking for a Lab engineer to join a well established Data Center site. We're looking for someone who has been in structured lab/data center environment and feels comfortable being hands on across asset governance, infrastructure optimisation and operational support.

The role includes overseeing physical assets, supporting infrastructure capacity planning, and ensuring best practice standards across documentation, compliance, and lab management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records of hardware assets, including configuration, lifecycle status, and physical location.
• Ensure all adds, moves, and changes within the lab environment are properly documented in asset/DCIM systems.
• Support monitoring of rack space, power usage, and cooling efficiency
• Assist in planning for new hardware deployments, upgrades, and decommissioning activities
• Provide hands-on support for installs, removals, relocations, and troubleshooting of server/network hardware
• Strong experience with Physical server and networking equipment

Below certifications are highly desired:

• CompTIA Data+
• Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP)
• Or similar infrastructure-focused credentials

Must be comfortable:

• Lifting and manoeuvreing equipment (up to 50 lbs)
