We are working with a well-established, multidisciplinary building services consultancy seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing Leeds office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer looking to develop their technical expertise while working on a diverse range of innovative and sustainable projects.

This is a permanent, full-time role operating within a flexible and agile working framework.

The Role
As an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality mechanical building services designs across a variety of sectors including healthcare, education, residential, commercial and industrial.

You will be involved at every stage of projects, from concept design through to completion, working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities
Work on a wide range of technically challenging projects across multiple sectors
Participate in all stages of project delivery
Produce drawings, specifications and technical documentation
Carry out mechanical design calculations using both manual and software-based methods
Monitor your own work to ensure quality, programme and budget compliance
Liaise with other design disciplines to understand client requirements and support appropriate solution selection
Contribute to technical coordination across disciplines
Attend and represent the business at selected project meetings
Integrate sustainability principles and low/zero carbon (LZC) technologies into designs
Undertake site visits and review contractor installations for compliance with design intent
Engage in Continued Professional Development (CPD) to stay current with industry developments
Develop an understanding of electrical systems to support multidisciplinary collaboration
About You
Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (HNC/HND also considered)
Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in building services design
Experience using design software such as Microsoft Office, Relux/Dialux, Amtech and Revit
Knowledge of British and European Standards and Building Regulations
Awareness of HTMs (desirable but not essential)
Working towards or holding professional membership (CIBSE, IET or similar)
Understanding of renewable technologies and sustainable design integration
Working knowledge of BREEAM
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
