AboutThe Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team s role is crucial in ensuring maximum equipment availability and reliability through effective maintenance practices. Working on an annualized shift pattern, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, site utilities, and services while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills with an electrical bias and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
RoleResponsibilities
- Respond to machine breakdowns promptly and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime while ensuring all work complies with engineering and safety legislation
- Execute planned preventative maintenance activities according to the site maintenance plan, working collaboratively with the engineering planner to optimize maintenance programs
- Lead zero loss teams to reduce utilities usage and drive improvements to equipment reliability through root cause analysis and problem-solving activities
- Manage contractors and issue permits in accordance with site procedures, including reviewing risk assessments and method statements
- Maintain and optimize site utilities and services to ensure legal compliance, maximum uptime, and environmental performance
- Support operations teams by identifying changeover improvements and providing technical support for Autonomous Maintenance activities
- Champion and implement 5S improvement plans for the engineering department while maintaining high quality, safety, health, and environmental standards
- Strong multi-skilled background with an electrical bias, capable of understanding root causes of machine breakdowns and developing effective solutions
- Experience working within continuous improvement programs and facilitating problem-solving activities with both technical and non-technical personnel
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with others and gain their support
- Understanding of site utilities and services with a commitment to reducing consumption and improving environmental performance
- Demonstrated ability to develop principles of operation and train operators on equipment procedures
- Proactive approach to challenges with a clear focus on improving ways of working and contributing positively to the larger Britvic team
- Minimum BTEC/NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline
- City & Guilds or ONC in an engineering discipline required
- Relevant certifications in maintenance engineering or related fields
