Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer will provide technical support to the sales team and customers, ensuring Storth Machinery’s products are specified, configured, and delivered in a technically sound and commercially practical way. The role acts as a key link between sales, design, R&D, service, and marketing. This sales engineer will be part of the design engineering team.

• Provide engineering and technical support to the sales team to meet project requirements.
• Ensure items on customer orders are compatible and function correctly as complete systems.
• Clarify and refine technical details on quotes prior to order placement.
• Create and maintain part codes and product structures for new projects.
• Check complex systems against customer expectations and agreed specifications.
• Quality assure larger or more complex systems, highlighting issues as they arise.
• Act as a liaison between sales and design to resolve technical issues or miscommunication.
• Generating product costings of new & existing products.
• Gather customer and sales feedback and relay it to the design and R&D teams.
• Support R&D task planning in line with sales order requirements.
• Keep the sales team informed of new products or product changes.
• Supply marketing with technical information for price lists, brochures, and website content.

• HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Agricultural, Design).
• Engineering background or strong technical understanding of engineered products.
• 3+ Years’ experience in industry preferred.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and practically.
• Strong commercial awareness of pricing, costs & margins.
• Organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working across multiple teams.
• Experience with Sage would be beneficial (but not essential).
• Knowledge of Agricultural field would be advantageous.
