We are working with a leading international technical engineering and construction partner delivering complex design and build projects across the UK, Ireland and Mainland Europe. Operating at Tier 1 level within the industrial, pharmaceutical, logistics, data centre and advanced manufacturing sectors, this organisation is known for delivering high-quality, technically demanding schemes for blue-chip end user clients
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical / Electrical Estimator or Senior Estimator to join their Leeds-based team.
The Role
You will play a key role in the full tender lifecycle on major MEP and design & build projects. This position will suit someone confident managing tenders independently, with the capability to step into a senior-level role depending on experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Appraisal and review of tender documentation
- Strong technical understanding of Mechanical & Electrical systems
- Preparation of material and subcontract enquiries and selection of specialist subcontractors
- Site visits to identify and assess project-specific risks
- Preparation of Bills of Quantities, analytical cost estimates, preliminaries, budgets and cost plans
- Adjudication and comparison of subcontractor quotations
- Management of technical queries to ensure accurate and fully developed costings
- Risk management and preparation of tender risk registers
- Value engineering throughout the design development process
- Presentation of tenders to senior management at settlement meetings
- Full tender submission and structured handover to the delivery team
About You
- Several years’ experience in estimating, quantity surveying or construction cost planning
- Strong MEP and HVAC knowledge, ideally within pharmaceutical or technically complex builds
- Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
