My Client is a leading Independent Consultancy established in Leeds in 2007; they provide a bespoke service in the fields of Structural and Civil Engineering.

The work they undertake is generally up to around £20 million, and a significant portion of which is regular, repeat business from an established Client base in the Public & Private sectors.

They work across a broad range of sectors operating both locally and nationally, and have forged a solid reputation working on projects across the Health, Leisure, Residential, Commercial and Industrial sectors.

My Client is looking to appoint a Senior/Principal Structural Engineer to manage and lead their current team and assist with the overall growth of the office. The role would suit a Chartered or near Chartered Structural Engineer with at least 8 years experience, who is hands‑on but can also demonstrate their ability to lead a team. This will involve managing and delivering a number of projects, mentoring younger members of staff whilst supervising and leading the technical delivery of projects.

To apply for this position it is expected that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Chartered or nearing Chartership within the following governing bodies, IStruct
  
  E or MICE.
• All round experience in building structures including load bearing masonry and steel / concrete framed structures and foundations.
• Competent with computer analysis of structures ideally using Tekla Structural Designer (essential).
• Competent with calculations utilising British Standards / Eurocodes.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with experience of report writing (essential).
• Experience of overseeing / managing younger Engineers and Technicians work.
• Experience of dealing with Clients face to face and other professionals in a confident manner.
• Experience of temporary works, geotechnics and drainage design would be an advantage but not essential.
