Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team this role, you will ensure maximum availability and reliability of production equipment by attending to machine breakdowns and effecting repairs promptly. You will also carry out planned and preventative maintenance activities, maintain site utilities and services, and lead zero loss teams to reduce utilities usage and drive improvements to reliability.
RoleResponsibilities
- Champion quality, safety, health, environmental standards, and legal compliance within the engineering teams.
- Support and develop improvements to production equipment to drive site reliability targets.
- Facilitate problem-solving activities with both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Resolve root cause analyses (RCAs) to ensure system compliance and meet close-out targets.
- Manage contractors and issue permits in line with site permit procedures.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance activities in line with the site plan.
- Organize and manage work related to facilities and site infrastructure.
- Develop plans and practices that reduce site utilities consumption and champion environmental performance.
- Support and manage site utilities and services equipment to optimize operation and maximize reliability.
- Work with the engineering planner to optimize the planned preventative maintenance program across production equipment.
- Collaborate with operations teams to identify changeover improvements and provide technical support for AM activities.
- Deliver 5S improvement plans for the engineering department and drive overall standards.
- Practical engineering/technical experience with a proven track record of maintenance delivery.
- City & Guilds or ONC in an engineering discipline (HNC preferable).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A strong multi-skilled background (with an electrical bias) able to understand the root cause of machine breakdowns and develop solutions.
- Ability to develop principles of operation and changeover, and work with shift teams to train and develop operators.
- Ability to manage contractors, review risk assessments and method statements, and issue permits.
- Understanding of site utilities and services.
- Experience working within continuous improvement programs.

Working Hours:
40 hrs a week (week 1 Monday-Thursday, week 2 Tuesday - Friday)
