Graduate Civil Engineer - Flood and Coastal Resilience
Join Haskoning as a Graduate Civil Engineer to work on projects and proposals primarily in coastal and fluvial engineering.
About Haskoning:
Haskoning is an independent, employee-owned international consultancy that combines engineering, design, and consultancy services with software and technology. Our mission is to create a positive impact on the world.
The Resilience Engineering team has around 30 engineers and technicians focusing on water’s edge projects, with a strong track record in coastal and fluvial sector projects. Recent projects include the Southsea Coastal Scheme and Northey Island Coastal Adaptation.
The role involves providing assistance to Project Managers and technical specialists, as well as contributing to site inspections, feasibility studies, designs, construction support, report-writing, and liaison with external parties.
We require an enthusiastic, optimistic, conscientious, and talented person with good communication skills, willingness to learn, and technical ability. The candidate must be able to work in a team and, at times, independently.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelors (essential) and a Masters (desirable) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Understanding of materials and hydraulic, geotechnical, and structural principles.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A good understanding of the engineering and environmental consultancy sectors.
- Previous experience within a team environment.
- Interest in coastal and fluvial projects.
- Commercial awareness.
- Knowledge of Industry drivers (e.g. Net Zero, UN Sustainable Development Goals etc.).
- Willingness to travel within the UK (essential) and overseas (desirable).
