Senior Town Planner – Leeds City Centre or Sheffield City Centre
Location: Leeds or Sheffield (City Centre) | Hybrid working available

The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Senior Town Planner to join a respected and growing planning consultancy with offices based in Leeds and Sheffield City Centre
. This is a fantastic chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects — from urban regeneration and mixed-use developments to strategic residential and commercial schemes — while taking real ownership of your work in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
You’ll be joining a consultancy known for its creative approach to planning and its ability to deliver successful outcomes for clients across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and contribute to a wide range of planning applications, appeals, and development appraisals.
- Provide expert planning advice and lead client communications on a variety of schemes.
- Undertake site appraisals, research, and analysis to inform development strategies.
- Prepare high-quality planning statements, design and access statements, and committee reports.
- Engage with local planning authorities, stakeholders, and multi-disciplinary teams to drive successful project delivery.
- Mentor junior planners and support the continued growth of the planning team.
- Around 3-4 years’ post-qualification experience in town planning, ideally within consultancy or a local authority setting.
- Ideally MRTPI Chartered (or actively working towards chartership within the next 12 months).
- Strong working knowledge of UK planning policy, legislation, and the development management process.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and report‑writing skills.
- A proactive and commercially minded planner who enjoys managing projects and building strong client relationships.
