Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a manufacturing business based in West Yorkshire to recruit an Engineering and Technical Manager.

This role has the potential to grow and develop into running the full engineering department as the site grows.

As Engineering and Technical Manager you will lead a small team, keep production moving, and improve how the engineering function operates day to day.

The role

As Engineering and Technical Manager, you will take ownership of site engineering performance and reliability.

You will:

• Lead diverse team and work closely with wider engineering functions
• Implement and run a structured preventative maintenance plan
• Reduce machine downtime and improve equipment efficiency
• Lead continuous improvement across engineering processes and systems
• Manage projects for new and existing machinery from install to production
• Support production teams with fast, practical technical solutions
• Ensure health and safety standards are met and documentation is kept up to date
• Manage maintenance KPIs, budgets and departmental spend
• Recruit and develop engineering talent as the team grows

The person

We are keen to speak with people with:

• A strong engineering background with leadership or management experience
• Mechanical bias, with some electrical knowledge
• Experience in similar manufacturing environments
• Experience with preventative maintenance systems
  
  Good working knowledge of health, safety and quality standards
• Strong IT and reporting skills
• The confidence to make decisions, lead under pressure and keep people engaged
