Our client is a Tier 1 M&E Contractor with multiple offices in the UK. They have a great reputation for delivering building services projects across many sectors, including residential, healthcare, educational etc. With a robust portfolio of projects and having recently secured a sizeable residential project in Leeds centre, they are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer (N.B. electrically biased engineers will also be considered) to join their operational team.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Project Engineer to join our clients' team for a new residential project in Leeds centre. This exciting 18-month project will commence in February 2026 and presents an exceptional opportunity for a professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering to broaden their experience on a major new-build project - £17 million M&E value.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage mechanical engineering activities for the new build residential project.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project milestones are met within budget and on schedule.
Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to facilitate seamless communication and project execution.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols.
Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and project updates to senior management.
Identify and mitigate potential project risks and implement contingency plans as necessary.
Qualifications and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field or relevant qualification.
Proven experience in managing large-scale mechanical engineering projects.
Previous experience working with Tier 1 construction companies is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, installation, and commissioning.
Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
